Email Phishing Fraud

Do not trust VK social media

Have you received emails from VK?
    with subject lines such as:

From: VK
Subject:  Привязка email к аккаунту 
                                          (Email address linked to your account)
From: VK
Subject: Включена функция подтверждения входа по SMS
                                          (SMS login confirmation feature enabled)
From: VK
Subject: Ваш пароль был изменен
                                           (Your password has been changed)
From: VK
Subject: 2 new messages

From: VK
Subject: Someone has accessed your account through the site "ВКонтакте", Vologda

From: VK
Subject: Someone has accessed your account through the VK app for Android, Vologda

Supposedly, somebody has used your name/address to open a fake account.  YOU HAVE NO RECOURSE. 

There is no way to report the fraud EXCEPT TO OPEN A FAKE ACCOUNT YOURSELF!

Worse, they want you to prove who you are including sending them your photo I.D.

Don't fall for that trick.  Just consider any emails you get from VK to be spam.  Just delete them unopened.  Or put them in the spam box.

   but you will have to explain that your identity has NOT been stolen by some unknown person, but rather that VK is either the one doing the phishing or else a phisher is posing as VK.  (I believe the latter is more likely.)  Using this method you risk being misunderstood, because how carefully do you think your submission is going to be examined?
