WARNING

NOT EVERYTHING THAT

CALLS ITSELF ORTHODOX IS

TRULY ORTHODOX

The above warning was given to me when I first met Orthodoxy in 1986. Today [2009] it is even more perilous, even more difficult to find the Royal Path. For one thing there is a far greater abundance of misinformation. And many materials are missing, and other materials are being rapidly rewritten. For another thing there are fewer than ever guides remaining on the Royal Path, especially who speak English. Hopefully this website will be a place where Newcomers to the Faith can keep at least one foot on solid ground, while they are "exploring."

True Story for Halloween

from Joanna's note pad

Halloween is Satan's biggest day.  This is the day when all the witches and other servants perform rituals (and pranks) to make Satan happy.  Why?  because they want favors from Satan.  Maybe because of fear, but usually the most zealous doings are for the purpose of getting favors — like in witchcraft.  Yes, also many innocents get caught up in the glee of the celebrations.  But the main underlying purpose for the revelry is to get favor with Satan.

They trust Satan's power more than God's almighty power.

I knew of a witch.  Nancy Breckenridge. She is now (2026) serving a life sentence for murder in whatever prison now houses the women prisoners that used to be in Julia Tutwiler, Alabama.  I knew personally 2 men on whom this witch had cast spells.  One of the men — the one who married her — was an English professor at Auburn.  George Howard Lynn III.   Not a dumb guy.   Soon after he married Nancy, he realized that she really was a witch, just as she had claimed, where before George had never really thought about witches or demons...

Nancy had a room in her house, where she had set up an altar to Satan.  Her house was in a well-to-do northern suburb of Birmingham.  I know another man, a regular country-boy southern-Baptist who saw this room.  Nancy showed him this room when she gave him a tour of her house.  She led him down the hall, and opened the door to the room.  He did not step inside, but he did look in.  He remembers little, except he remembers a seeing table with black candles, and the whole room being like an elaborately dressed chamber for Satan.  I know George knew about this room, but he never talked about it.  I rarely asked George questions, but I listened carefully to whatever he offered to tell me.

After George realized that Nancy was not just some pitiful blitherer, he started listening to her more carefully.  She told him that she was a witch and she bragged that when she dies she is going to hell where she is "going to be one of Satan's helpers."

At one point George asked her in so many words, "Why did you choose this course of life, to serve Satan?"

Her answer:
"The other one did not work."

In other words, she TRIED to get God to do what she wants.  But God would not accommodate her wishes.  She knows who God is. She just does not like Him.  She decided against Him.  She rejects Him.

conclusion:
But why do Orthodox Christians trouble themselves to perform rituals and make sacrifices to our Holy God?  It is not because we expect favors from our God, as the Satanist expect favors from Satan.  It is because we
love our Holy God.  We gather together to praise Him for His beauty and Perfection, and His Truth.  We thank Him for giving us our life with Him.
