Today, February 7, 2026, at 2:05 AM, in Kyiv, our parishioner Sergei Sorokin froze to death in his apartment at the age of 44. There is practically no heating or electricity in the city, and the entire Left Bank, especially the Troyeshchyna district, is in the most dire situation. Sergei was a professional industrial climber, but after a stroke he became disabled. He lived alone, except for his cat, in his apartment on the 7th floor. After the shelling of the heating systems in early January, everything started to cool down, and as a result, the walls froze through. Sergei could not go downstairs on his own if the elevator wasn't working. Tonight, the cold-induced death orchestrated by the Soviet regime ended Sergei's life... May he rest in peace!
Сегодня, 7 февраля 2026 года, в 2:05 ночи, в Киеве, в возрасте 44-х лет, замёрз в своей квартире наш прихожанин Сергей Сорокин. В городе практически нет тепла и электричества, а весь Левый берег и, особенно, район Троещина - в самом тяжёлом положении. Сергей был профессиональным промышленным альпинистом, но после инсульта стал нетрудоспособным. Сам себя обслуживал, в квартире на 7 этаже кроме него жил только кот. После обстрела теплосетей в начале января, всё стало остывать, в результате стены промёрзли насквозь. Сергий не мог самостоятельно спускаться, если лифт не работал. Сегодня ночью устроенный советской властью холодомор для Сергея окончился… Царство ему Небесное!
